The Heritage Centre

We are honoured to partner with Rod and Shirani in reaching vulnerable children and families in the hill country of Sri Lanka.

Led by God’s call, they established the Heritage Child Care Centre to provide a safe, loving environment where children can learn about Jesus, receive biblical teaching through creative lessons and games, and experience genuine care and encouragement. Many of these children come from impoverished communities where families struggle to meet even their basic needs.

Through the faithful support of our church, children are provided with essential school supplies, including backpacks, books and stationery, enabling many to attend school with confidence. Alongside practical assistance, they are nurtured spiritually through regular Bible teaching, memory verses, prayer and discipleship, helping them develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The ministry has also expanded into a second outreach in Talawakele, where a growing youth ministry and new Sunday worship gatherings are bringing hope to children, young people and their families. Parents have witnessed positive changes in their children’s behaviour and faith, creating new opportunities for entire families to hear the Gospel.

Rod and Shirani express their heartfelt gratitude to GETHM Church for every prayer, gift and act of generosity, and state there life-changing ministry would not be possible without the faithful support of our church family.

GETHM Church sows to advance God's Kingdom in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is a country torn by war & violence for over 20 years, bringing poverty and immense suffering to the people.

Of the 18.5 million population, Buddhism comprises 69%, Hinduism 15%, Christianity 8% and Islam 7%.

Over 75% of people live in rural villages and have not been reached with the good news of Jesus Christ.
